| The Object of Rotary is to encourage and foster the ideal of service as a basis of worthy enterprise and, in particular, to encourage and foster:
service; SECOND. High ethical standards in business and professions, the recognition of the worthiness of all useful occupations, and the dignifying of each Rotarian's occupation as an opportunity to serve society; THIRD. The application of the ideal of service in each Rotarian's personal, business, and community life; FOURTH. The advancement of international understanding, goodwill, and peace through a world fellowship of business and professional persons united in the ideal of service. |

| Leonardtown Rotary meets in the Atrium of St. Mary's Hospital |

| The Leonardtown Rotary Club is now accepting grant applications from St. Mary’s non profit programs and public services agencies. The deadline for this award period is March 5, 2010 and awards will be announced in May. A key element of “service above self” as practiced by the Leonardtown Rotary Club is providing grant funds to local agencies and programs that provide humanitarian services to the citizens of St. Mary’s County. Application for and awards made are competitive. Grants typically range from $250 to $500 depending on the need expressed in the application.
