The Object of Rotary is to encourage and foster the ideal of service as a
basis of worthy enterprise and, in particular, to encourage and foster:
    FIRST. The development of acquaintance as an opportunity for
    service;
    SECOND. High ethical standards in business and professions, the
    recognition of the worthiness of all useful occupations, and the
    dignifying of each Rotarian's occupation as an opportunity to serve
    society;
    THIRD. The application of the ideal of service in each Rotarian's
    personal, business, and community life;
    FOURTH. The advancement of international understanding, goodwill,
    and peace through a world fellowship of business and professional
    persons united in the ideal of service.

September 19th: Airmen of Note  
The Air Force premier jazz band.

October 24th:  Daniel Rodriguez  
NY City police officer who was one of the department's designated anthem singers on 9/11 whose performances of God
Bless America and the National Anthem won him great acclaim.

November 14th:  Woods Tea Company
A musical group performing bluegrass, Celtic tunes, sea shanties and folk songs using over a dozen different
instruments.  This group from Vermont offers a lively mix of music and humor for all to enjoy.  They have performed at
Lincoln Center and on National Public Radio, among others.

December 5th:  Elisabeth von Trapp  
Ms. von Trapp performed at the Kennedy Center in December of '08.  She will be performing her Christmas concert,
backed by one of our own local choruses.

January 9th:  Legendary Ladies of Song  
Featuring Sue Mathews and a sextet of musicians, Sue sings the music of Rosemary Clooney, Doris Day and Peggy
Lee as we also learn about the lives of these three talented performers.
